For our April meeting, we will be joining squares for a 40” x 40” Welcome Blanket for the exhibit coming up this fall in Rhode Island. If you have any “squares” you would like to contribute, bring them along and we’ll see what we can put together.

Our March meeting will be a week early due to Easter, Sunday, March 24, 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm at the Westborough Public Library. We will learn how to do “Corner-to-Corner” crochet. C2C crochet uses the Diagonal Box Stitch with either double or half-double crochet stitches to work diagonally from one corner to another. Bring yarn and appropriate sized hook and we can try it together!

Bring DK to worsted weight smooth yarn in a light to medium color, and a hook 2 to 3 sizes larger than you usually use with that yarn. We will have extra TC hooks to try out.

We will have our regular June meeting on the usual “last Sunday” which is 6/25, at the usual time, 1:30 to 3:30, but in a new location. We will be in the meeting room at Tatnuck Bookseller, 18 Lyman Street, Westborough (traffic light, just off Rte 9).
It’s in a shopping mall, so there’s plenty of easy parking! The meeting room is all the way in the back, on the right.
We’ll have time for some “Show & Share”, and questions or problems that folks might have with a project.
For a program topic — it’s going to be a surprise. Bring your favorite H/#8/5mm hook. Worsted weight yarn will be provided. There will be a short exercise that will be interesting and hopefully enlightening, and who knows, we might even manage to make it fun!
Think about some of these ideas for future meeting topics, and bring any other ideas you have!

The Fishnet Crocheters will be hosting a gathering for World Wide Knit in Public Day, Saturday June 10, on the front lawn of the Westborough Public Library, in conjunction with the Friends of the Library Book Sale, 10am to 3pm. We will have a shade tent set up, BYO chair, hat, sun screen, drink, snack and a fiber-related project to work on. Looking forward to meeting some new fiber friends, and hope you can join us!

We had such a great time meeting in person again for our March meeting at the Westborough library, that we decided to meet there again in April! We’ll be meeting in the Galfand Meeting Room, on the Ground Floor (aka the basement, or street level — entrance is on the side of the building) at the Westborough Public Library for SUNDAY, APRIL 30. Details on the topic on our “Meetings” section. (Please note that parking is not allowed in the church’s lot next door, but street parking is free and plentiful!)

The new meeting format worked well in September and we’re continuing with that format for October. We’ll be meeting an hour early at Panera down the street (walking distance) from the library. This will give us a chance to socialize and look at each other’s projects without cutting into our meeting and program time. It’s not mandatory to come to both parts of the meeting. It will be great to see you however you choose to participate.
We’ll be meeting from 1:30-3:30pm as we usually do at Cary Memorial Library in Lexington, MA.
We’re kicking off our Year of Colorwork! Karen has challenged us to swatch some mosaic crochet and bring in questions/insights to share. The pattern Karen suggests swatching is “Nya Mosaic Blanket” by Tatsiana Kupryianchyk, better known as Lilla Bjorn. There is a free version of the pattern with photo tutorials on her blog. Mary has some suggestions on the yahoo group on various ways to do the colorwork.
If you haven’t already picked up a hook, there’s still time! What if you don’t have time to swatch? Come anyway! Learn from the discussion and/or contribute from past experience.
Feel free to bring any charity items for donation.
